Ringgold County, IA– Ringgold County Hospital (RCH) has received a Community Wish Grant from Ringgold County’s H.E.L.P. Youth Philanthropy Group to assist in funding a smoothie bike, an interactive tool that promotes physical activity and healthy eating in a fun, hands-on way.
The smoothie bike (a stationary bicycle that powers a smoothie-blender through pedaling) will be incorporated into RCH’s Health Professionals in the Classroom program, giving students a memorable way to learn about nutrition while staying active. Designed for people of all ages, it will also make appearances at county fairs and community events, helping RCH reach individuals across Ringgold County and surrounding areas.
“With the purchase of a smoothie bike, RCH will strengthen and expand our school programs and community presence by introducing a hands-on activity that promotes movement and nutrition in a fun way,” said Keegan Bethards, RCH Marketing Coordinator. “The use of this new equipment will show that healthy choices don’t have to feel like a chore and is a simple, but powerful, way to show that healthy choices can be fun and rewarding.”
RCH expects the smoothie bike to spark enthusiasm and inspire a positive shift in how participants view exercise and healthy eating. This initiative reflects RCH’s commitment to promoting lifelong wellness through education, innovation, and community engagement.
