When to See a Podiatrist
If you are experiencing symptoms relating to your foot or ankle, make sure you get it checked out by a provider in the field at Ringgold County Hospital’s outpatient podiatry clinic.
You may wish to schedule a visit with our foot care provider if you have:
- Unexplained pain or swelling in your foot or ankle
- Symptoms of a foot or ankle condition
- Chronic foot or ankle pain that you’ve been managing with over-the-counter medicines
- Numbness or tingling in the feet or toes
- Heel pain that is persistent or getting worse
- Noticeable deformities in your foot
The podiatrist at RCH’s outpatient specialty clinic can offer a variety of solutions for issues affecting your feet and ankles. This can range from the use of custom-made or over-the-counter orthotics to medications, and/or physical therapy. In some cases, surgical or other procedures may be recommended.
Prevention plays a big role when it comes to foot and ankle health. Wearing properly fitted and comfortable shoes can go a long way to keeping your feet healthy and preventing problems. Regular exercise and maintaining a healthy weight can also help. Caring for your feet with daily cleaning, protection, and keeping an eye out for issues is also recommended.
