Katie Willcox, DO
Katie Willcox, DO Chief of Staff, Katie Willcox, came to Ringgold County Hospital and Mount Ayr Medical Clinic from LeClaire, IA. Willcox’s favorite part of practicing as a doctor is treating patients with early and preventative healthcare to improve their overall quality of life. When choosing Mt. Ayr, Willcox found it “perfect.” Rural healthcare allows her to provide more complete care, it provides a wider scope of practice and naturally invites building relationships with patients. In looking at changes throughout the years, Willcox sees technology as two-sided. It can be informative and helpful, and it can also be incorrect. She believes utilizing trusted sources is important, as well as involving patients in their treatment plan. Free time for Dr. Willcox is spent reading. She enjoys novels, but is often also found reading medical journals and articles. When asked what one thing she would change about healthcare, Dr. Willcox answered, “The many hoops we have to jump through for insurance requirements.”
