Generally, Dr. Martin and Kathy DeWald treat anyone referred by local physicians, patients diagnosed with elevated cholesterol levels, and those suffering from chest pain, heart disease, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, and carotid disease.

Physician Biographies

Enrico Martin, M.D., joined Iowa Heart Center in November of 2007. He holds a medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines and completed his residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. Martin completed his cardiology fellowship at East Tennessee State University and his advanced cardiac CT/MR fellowship at the University of Florida at Shands. Before joining Iowa Heart, Dr. Martin was the Director of Cardiovascular Imaging at Rockford Cardiology Associates in Rockford, IL.
Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with his family and getting to know the people in his new community.

Kathy DeWald, ARNP, returned to the Iowa Heart Center in September, 2007, as a Nurse Practitioner. She was a nurse for more than 10 years at Iowa Heart before leaving to complete her nurse practitioner training.
Kathy holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Drake University in Des Moines. She completed her nurse practioner training at Creighton University Medical School in Omaha. |
