The Mt. Ayr Medical Clinic is located in Ringgold County Hospital and serves the general care needs of patients in Ringgold County and beyond. Our regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In addition to seeing patients by appointment, the clinic also offers other services and educational opportunities. Our professional providers are available on the regular, rotating schedules listed below.
Bruce W. Ricker, D.O.

Bruce Ricker, D.O., was born and reared in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. He graduated from Mt. Ayr Community High School, the University of Iowa, and the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Ricker had a family practice in Phoenix, Arizona, for twelve years before returning to Ringgold County in 1996. He is married with three children. Dr. Ricker has a strong Christian faith and enjoys medical mission work.
Board certified in Family Practice and Hospice/Palliative medicine, Dr. Ricker believes in a holistic approach to patient care. He believes patients should receive the same high quality of care in Ringgold County that they would receive in the best medical centers in the United States.
E. Michael Magers, D.O.

In July of 2002, Dr. Michael Magers began his family practice at the Mt. Ayr Medical Clinic. A native of Kansas City, MO, Dr. Magers completed his residency at the Medical Center of Independence, Independence, MO, and graduated from the University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City, MO. He is board certified in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment through the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Magers serves as the ER Medical Director for the Ringgold County Hospital.
Jerald Phipps, D.O.

Jerald Phipps, D. O., was born in Iowa. He graduated from Boone High School, University of Iowa and the University of Ostepathic Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Phipps completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Rockford. Dr. Phipps served in the Army Medical Corps and served 3 overseas tours. Dr. Phipps believes in serving Christ and common sense. He has been in Mount Ayr since February, 2013.
Marcy Gregg, ARNP

Marcy Gregg, ARNP, is a native of Clearfield, Iowa. She graduated from Southwestern Community College in 1985 with an associate's degree in nursing. Marcy began her career at RCH in 1986, working as an RN in acute care. At the same time, she continued her education, earning a bachelor's degree, followed by a master's degree in nursing from Graceland University. Marcy began working as a family nurse practitioner for the Mt. Ayr Medical Clinic in 1999, and is certified by the American Diabetes Association as a diabetes educator.
Ron Schafer, PA-C
Wound Care Certified

Ron Schafer joined the Ringgold County Hospital in 1990, working as an EMT while he continued his education. In 2000, he began serving as a Physician Assistant with the hospital and the Mt. Ayr Medical Clinic. Ron focuses primarily on family medicine but also enjoys providing emergency room coverage.
Ron has received certification in wound care and hopes to begin a wound care clinic in Mt. Ayr in order to offer care for chronic, difficult-to-treat wounds. Ron also provides an important service to clinic patients who are home-bound by making house calls within 20 miles of Mt. Ayr.
